Biography

Emmanuel Lluncor Taboada, known artistically as Emma Lluncor, was born on January 10, 1990, in Chiclayo, Peru. From a very young age, he found in music a refuge and a powerful form of expression. At 15, with a guitar in hand and a heart full of curiosity, he began to play as a self-taught musician—observing others and guided by a strong musical instinct. He didn’t come from prestigious stages or elite music schools; he came from effort, observation, and a genuine passion for creating.

His earliest chords were shaped by instrumental metal legends such as Marty Friedman, Steve Vai, Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert, and Joe Satriani. At the same time, he drew inspiration from the emotional and melodic universe of alternative rock and metal, with bands like Nickelback, Linkin Park, Metallica, Soundgarden, Tool, and many others leaving a deep mark on his unique style.

At the age of 16, he formed his first band, Logia, with his brother Anndy and friend Julio. Although the band only lasted two years, it marked his first steps onto live stages and introduced him to the thrill of sharing his art with an audience. At 18, he formed his second band, HAARP, a rock project entirely in English. With HAARP, he recorded his first single, “Really Me”, which brought him national recognition through a band contest held by a Lima-based radio station. The exposure earned him interviews on major media platforms and drew in fans who came to his home asking for autographs and photos. It was a defining moment—his music was reaching hearts.

As time passed, HAARP gained thousands of listeners on platforms like Myspace, reaching nearly 30,000 plays in just two weeks. However, work commitments forced Emma to step away from live performances for a while. Still, he never stopped composing. He never stopped dreaming.

In 2016, his life took an unexpected turn when he began working as a photographer aboard a cruise ship. Far from home, fate opened new doors. He met talented musicians from around the world, played alongside amazing performers such as Chris Cárdenas (session guitarist for bands like The Scorpions and The Feelings), and performed in the United States, the Bahamas, Croatia, Italy, Montenegro, and Greece. Even without a professional album released at that point, his music was already crossing oceans.

In 2018, Emma returned to Peru determined to finally record and release his music. He signed a distribution deal with Altafonte Network (Spain) and began working with renewed energy. During this time, Marty Friedman—legendary guitarist of Megadeth—offered him a piece of personal advice that struck deep in Emma’s heart: “Keep going. Don’t stop.” That encouragement inspired him to officially release his first works, both as a solo artist and with his band.

That same year, he also connected with respected names in the music industry such as Rafo Arbulú (producer of Gian Marco), Germán Villacorta (producer of Ozzy Osbourne), and drummer Hans Menacho, who all recognized his talent and pushed him forward.

His first EP, The Blame, was created in collaboration with Danni, a Russian colleague, entirely over distance. However, due to confusion with other bands named “HAARP” in Europe, he decided to rename his project Cloverstain—a name that now represents his rawest, most emotional, and alternative artistic side.

Since then, he has released the following works:

  • Cloverstain – Find My Soul (Nov 29, 2018)

  • Emma Lluncor – Synesthesia (Oct 5, 2018)

  • Emma Lluncor – Through the Green (Sep 27, 2019)

  • Emma Lluncor – The Blame (Jun 13, 2019)

Today, Emma Lluncor continues creating, recording, and releasing music from his home studio. His message is simple: You don’t need a big stage to shake the world, you need passion, authenticity, and unshakable faith in who you are. And he has it.

As long as the Supreme God allows it, Emma will continue composing from the soul and breaking barriers with every riff.
